PSE&G to Celebrate National 'Take Your Children to Work Day'
Kids Will Don Hard Hats and Safety Glasses for Hands-On Jobsite Demonstrations
TRENTON, N.J., April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kids all across New Jersey will learn Thursday what Mom and Dad really do when they go to work. PSE&G, the state's largest utility, is inviting employees to bring their kids to work for a day filled with hands-on demonstrations that illustrate the kind of work their parents do and the safety precautions taken at every turn.
Kids will be working alongside their parents and will be wearing hard hats, safety glasses and gloves. Media are invited to cover the festivities in Trenton, where children ages 8 to 12 will:
* go on a treasure hunt (kids will use metal detectors to locate silver
dollars hidden underground)
* work the controls of a small back-hoe
* "dig" with jackhammers
* fuse plastic pipes into hula hoops -- and then compete to see who can
keep it going the longest
