yep i do and now that he's down on storm i remind him every time we talk on the phone. we got cut off once before i could say it as we got off the phone. now i answer with -- hello i love you, stay safe...then we talk!
that's also why i'm writing a letter to him nightly to read when he gets home the things he's missed, i forget to tell him and also the supportive and love i have for him for going down and doing what he's doing.

I do not have line-man Luv to cuddle up to...But I am just a proud Momma of an apprentice line-man who at every chance she gets tells him that she "LUVS" him and strives to instill good decision making abilities and a reminder that his actions affect all those individuals within a close and far distance in many ways.....I am waiting for a phone call again tonight....I have tried to call Joe but all I get is a busy signal....I will wait and wait and hope that I do not miss his call.....
But to all you line-man your Appreciated and Loved whether you are down south or managing the home front in others abscence.....just remember that..OK!

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD CRIP!!
AND YOU TOO TAMMY!
ONE OF MY NICKNAMES AROUND TOWN IS 'EASY MONEY'!! SEEMS AS THOUGH EVERYBODY JUST SEES ME RIDING AROUND TOWN--GOING FROM JOB TO JOB---AND THINKS THAT ALL I DO IS RUN THE ROADS!!!
I KEEP TELLING THE PEOPLE--"I'LL SWAP WITH YA!" I HAVEN'T HAD A SINGLE PERSON TAKE ME UP ON THAT !!!
THEY DON'T THINK ABOUT US RISKING OUR LIVES FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO STAY WARM AND DRY, AND BE ABLE TO SEE IN THE HOUSE, OR OUTSIDE WHEN IT IS DARK!
HAD A CUSTOMER COMPLAINING AT A MEETING--ABOUT THEIR LIGHTS WERE THE FIRST OT GO OFF AND LAST TO COME ON , IN EVERY STORM!! ALL OF THAT LINE IS 'IN THE REAR OF', AND NO TRUCK ACCESS--EVEN IN THE DRIEST TIME OF THE YEAR--IT'S IN A CREEK BOTTOM!! WELL SHE ASKED IF WE HAD ANY IDEA WHAT IS LIKE TO COME HOME TO NO LIGHTS, NO HEAT, COLD SHOWERS, COLD FOOD ETC!!
WELL I THOUGHT MY BOSS WAS GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK (AND THEN KILL ME) BUT I ASKED HER IF SHE EVER THOUGHT OF CONSIDERING US DOING THE SAME--AFTER WORKING 16-18 HOURS A DAY -OR MORE--IN THE MESS!!
HER REPLY---"I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT !"
MY REPLY---"NEXT TIME, THINK ABOUT US AND DON'T JUST THINK ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR LIGHTS MIGHT COME BACK ON QUICKER---BUT I DOUBT IT!! -CAUSE I KNOW WHERE SHE LIVES!!! OOOPS! DID I SAY THAT?? wasn't me devil

OPPS!!! YES YOU DID!!! You don't know how many times I have heard that same comment and thought now you are being a little butt about the whole situation. I figured it was just my husband, didn't know you all thought alike too!!!
But you are absolutly right each and everyone of you. Like I said in an earlier post, i'm beating my head on a brick wall to come up with a way that you guys are reconginized just like the fire/rescue teams do. You all NEVER do!!

Somebody once told me that linemen are the unsung heroes, especially during storms. I reckon........

In reading all of the posts about the accidents, linemen getting hurt, or worse, killed on the job..........I thought about this thread again..................
There is not a day that goes by that I don't tell my 639 to "be careful" and that I Love him
...................I want him to know that there is someone at home that does love him and worry about him when he is either working the homefront or out on these storms.
And Tex, you hit the nail on the head, you guys and gals are the unsung heroes.......................but you all are heroes in my book.........I know that I was probably one of those people who did not appreciate all that everyone of you guys and gals in the business did, because I was ignorant to what you did until 639 and I met. I for one thank you for what you do, the risks you take, the sacrifices you all make.
God Bless you All

Ladies, statistics show that January is a bad month in the utility industry. More accidents occur in this month than any other. We have already had several at our company, one was pretty bad. PLEASE remind your lineman or apprentice to work safely every day. We want them all home safe and sound every night.
I agree with everyone. I work in the office at the cable company and my hubby works on power. I never tell him bye with a "BE SAFE AND LOVE YOU". At work I get calls all day with people trying to turn trucks around just because they are in the neighborhood. Like they are driving around with noththing to do. So to everyone DRIVE CAREFULL AND BE SAFE!

My mother would always give us a growl since we were kids when we left the the house if we said goodbye, it was always " see ya latter " instead.

Hi Everyone-
Every morning My husband Jasen gets out of bed... Snow, Rain, Sun ok maybe not rain ut still gets out of bed and gets ready for work, makes coffee, showers, ect. After he gets dressed and makes lunch he leaves for a long day of climbing poles, lashing and fiber and cable and all that good stuff you guys all love. But Before he leaves he kisses me and says "Im going". I always for the last 10 years have told him, "K, love you see you later...Be careful out there." I believe that sometimes he forgets and If I tell him every morning to be careful he will remember to:0) Hopefully...
