I had a phone interview last week for a Telco company based in Ontario Canada. It's for telephone and cable home installation/repair. The lady told me it's piece work (by the client) and she couldn't tell me how much roughly it is per customer. Is any of you here does that kind of work? I want to know if it's worth it or not. I have another interview next week but I just want to make sure it's not like $16 $17 per client which probably take over 1:30 for one. They provide a van, tools and a work laptop.

If they pay your for training, try it out, maybe? Might be some strings attached, but its legit.

Also, ask them to match whoever the big gun is in Ontario.

Piece rate in Vancouver will match 22/hr salary, if not a bit more.

It goes from 80 cents to $60 per call I would of taken it if they would of offer a base salary. The guy was honest he said the first year I probably wouldn't make close to the minimum I wanted 40k a year and there is days where you only make $40 for the day

I would take it for $22

I would take it for $22

$40:00 for a day that's only $5:00 an hour, they want you to work for half of min wage.

Yes basically what ever you make that's what it is. I would say those guys probably make $80 to $90 a day. I'd rather work at Wallmart. the guy kept repeating it's hard work, 80lbs ladder, work in bad weather snow, rain, in and out all the time. I am surprised there's no regulation or some sort of union. I remember 2 years ago I went for an interview for Bell canda and it was $13.86 to start, same type of work. It's a but insulting I think but I know there's people that will do it.
