I agree with you CWAV........1 is way too many
But do you guys and gals see the trend that I see.............the numbers are increasing year by year......why is that? Can someone shed some light on this issue. You would think with all the safety concerns and policies, the numbers would be decreasing..........WHY NOT?????
Some people can have all the lights on, but still be in the dark.... !!!!!

Could be that there are more people doing line work than ever before, or maybe accidents are just getting reported more often. The internet is a great source to get the word out. Company's are no longer able to hide these accident facts any longer.

Id have to agree, Im sure there was more then what was reported in previous years. But with all the changes to OSHA, workers comp, and other agencies, the companies cant fudge the numbers any more.

Any updates on the 2007 numbers to now? Hopefully the numbers won't jump to high.

Wonder if the increase in numbers reflects the ages of our workforce? A lot of old timers and a lot of new guys. These are usually the brackets where the most injuries occur. New guys dont see the danger and old guys seem to get complacent with it.

MLGW lineman fatally injured when pole falls
MILLINGTON, TN (WMC-TV) – An MLGW lineman was killed Tuesday while working in Millington.
Utility officials said the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday while crews were performing routine maintenance.
Reginald Payne, 42, was fatally injured when part of a pole fell and struck him.
Meanwhile, a second employee was transported to The MED.
Officials said Tuesday's accident was the first on-the-job death for MLGW since 2002.
