QUEEN CREEK, AZ - A cat stuck on a power line for at least seven hours has an ABC15 viewer to thank for its rescue.
The cat was spotted on the wires on a high voltage line at Queen Creek and Signal Butte Road in Queen Creek on Thursday morning.
The woman who contacted us only wanted to be identified by her first name.
"He is scared and probably hungry and thirsty," said Michelle.
The lines at the top of the power pole are 7,200 volts.
While ABC15 was rolling the cat did climb down a short distance on its own.
Salt River Project was then able to take action to get the cat down because it was on a neutral line, making it safer for a worker to get access to it.
Just after 4 p.m., video from Air15 and the ABC15 crew on the ground showed the worker gently place a towel over the cat and pick it up from the line it had been sitting on.
"You never know what they are going to do," said Kevin, the SRP trouble shooter who rescued the cat. "They are fearing for their life, too, and sometimes they just go berserk on you. This time we were lucky."
The cat quickly ran away once it got down. No one in the area claimed it as their pet.
