Close call with lightning sends power lineman to hospital for treatment
MOBILE, Alabama -- An Alabama Power Co. lineman was treated Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital after a close encounter with a lightning bolt, authorities said.
The unidentified man was released from the hospital Wednesday evening, according to Alabama Power spokeswoman Beth Thomas.
Mobile Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Steve Huffman said the man declined treatment at the scene, but Thomas said he went to the hospital later.
