That is a 450 in line drop EQ. TCI at one time required those to be installed.

I found this when I went out on a trouble call, changed it out to the vertical splitters and a nice pretty RG11 drop to boot.

There ya go! I don't let my BBT's run rg-6. They can't even have it on the truck. They're allowed in house rg-6 only. If they run a drop it's rg-11. from 10 to 200 feet it's rg-11.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. These are still the wrong clamps anyway. In this instance the clamps are on the preform splices. Usually a big :confused-smiley-013[1]: The clamps should have been for 5/16 or bigger strand so they would fit properly. A normal crossover clamp would be too small. We were actually required to use two bitch clamps on a job back in the 90's. We had about 4" X 5.8" stove type bolts that we used, with 2 round washers in between. You stuck them in from the bottom, and you made sure that the lady bolts were faced up so that they didn't rub on the cable. Also had to use a square nut with locking nut to make sure the clamps stayed secure. Topped it off with a rubber cap, but it only took about a year for those to pop off!
These folks did about everything wrong. I looks like they either used a piece of re-rod and cut it off, or cut off the shank of a regular bolt. The lady bolts point down. This is a cable ripper and hand ripper for sure!

Some kids.....

Why don't they just re frame the new pole and splice the cable so it will be right. Or get the right equipment to do it the wrong way right lol.

Ok, How about you get a call to wire in a new HITS Quantum system, and by the way they think they might need a little rewiring done while you are there! :confused-smiley-013[1]:

See I knew if there was one person who could understand how wrong this was it was you Dak the only reason they didn't frame in the pole was Bell ran two stands that wasn't there when the pole Xfer was done and the my competitor took forever to do their Xfer...... like 2 years so they lost their space to Bell.

This is what happens when you have a fiber crew go out to put up coax for a day.
