We recently had 6-8 inches of snow in North Western, NC. Not something we get alot of. We were expecting alot of outages but the freezing rain held off and the snow really didn't cause many problems. This particular job was two spans of broken primary and neutral. The truck couldn't get to it so I had the opportunity to use my hooks. A friend snapped these of me and I thought they came out pretty good. Check'em out.

Cool pic's Parker, is that a second safety hanging off your belt and is that how you have to climb around obstructions.

Yeah, it's a second safety. We have to use the Buckingham Bucksqueeze and it's not optional. It's good for keeping you on the pole but it definately slows things down trying to get to the work. Especially if you've got other utilites, service drops and the neutral to cross. :Voskl1[1]:

We use a Jelco pole chocker here, for a second safety to cross obstructions we use a retractable lanyard and the swap back to the pole chocker when we are by the obstruction. :rtfm:

LR yeah thats the kind of junk we have all around here! Yeah we have a maintainence program. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . we fix it when it falls down  :haha:

STS that is his rubber glove bag which he used along with a stick to apply secondary grounds with (which can barely be seen just to the right of the pole) since the primary grounds were in place already on both sides and it was already a tight fit he hung em of on a open wire hot leg coming off the bank before proceeding to change out the xarm!

Second pic is a broke pole thats why its a little bit of a leaner

Olo thanks

Looks like most of that old copperweld #6 or #8 and open wire secondary is dating back to the 40's or 50's. Are you still using porcelian cutouts or have you gone to composit material ones, we are changing every porcelian one we can here.

Well today the wife made me go to Walmart with her so I decided to get the top photo developed into an 8x10 and bought a nice frame for it. Turned out really nice I think. Thanks for the compliments guys.
