They were sent back to the factory and they supplied me with a new pair of boots.
No hassle, no problems.
They could have repaired them but they chose to replace them.
Thanks Royer.

My only complaint is how hard they are to break in. The part around the ankle and up is the most painful thing that I have ever experienced.

Apparently Hoffman will resole any boot for about $90, but with as comfortable as the Halls are as a work boot, I'm probably just going to get a dedicated climber.

Power linemen don't need to waterproof our boots. We walk ON the water!!
Amen Brother, water doesn't collect at the top.
lineman boots are always the high ones b/c they talk so much $hit!
I know...i'm married to one.....
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. If you can't join 'em, you're no fun!

I use sno-seal. Works really nice.
It's a bees-wax mix. Stick the boots in the oven (low - around 150-200*) for a few minutes, then apply. It'll soak in. Definitely lasted longer than mink oil, imo.
BTW...I ordered 16" Hoffman Pole Climbers Monday

My foreman would freak out if I had to change boots when I climbed. I think it would be kinda annoying always swapping out boots.
I wear Wesco Highliners now
Will be purchasing fitted Whites or Nicks Line boots next, have not decided which.

Check this out, I might help with the ankle bite 1 2 3 Lacing

As far as a water repellant, I use this stuff on all my boots:
http://www.obenaufs.com/lp.php?osCsid=ae78...185b29edfe3b92c
It works awesome, and is way better than anything I have ever used.

The no-nonscence view of the leads/chiefs was definitely an eye opener compared to the crap they make us do at school. It's going to be interesting going back.
