Hey, just curious if anybody has attended this school in Boise and what you thought about??
I am looking into the power lineman trade and debating between Northwest Lineman in boise and the JATC Lineman school based in Portland Oregon and operated in Astoria Oregon......
Any replies would be great...
Thanks...

I haven't attended the school and I'm not aware of any members that have, but I have visited the facilities and spoken to instructors. The campus is great. Classrooms are nice and clean and they've got a great yard. Last I heard I think they were building a substation for students? No on campus housing but they have nearby housing that caters towards the students. Good luck.

You should consider the Oroville CA campus too. It'll be a little warmer and more outdoor adventure to get into and explore. There's a lot of history in the hills just above Oroville up in the Feather River Canyon

I am in the Oroville class right now. Its awsome! Our instructors are some of the best to put a hook in a pole. The assistant director Mike Hennesey not only went through the class in Idaho, but he has authored NLC's competency guidlines for the students. He is one of our four instructors also. You should hit one of the NLC's. They offer more than just basic linework classes too. Check it out man!

i graduated the school in boise, september 15th. I am currently working in Colorado while I wait for NWJATC interviews in February. NWJATC is not the easiest of JATC's to get into. Go to the school, get employed to give yourself an advantage over some of the rest. Now these days everyone is going to line schools. If you look into VOLTA over in Astoria, Oregon you may have a better chance with NWJATC just because its Union. I guess the cheaper way to go is get your CDL and go work construction for some experience.

Ya I know Hennessey. Does he still have spit hanging from his lips all day long?

The best thing I can tell you to do is call here and set up a tour. We'll show you around and get you lined out on how to apply and everything you'll need then.

Im going to set up a tour with a buddy of mine in like february or so for the NLC in Boise... What are the chances of staying on the west coast thru NLC?? I mean i know they help you get interviews, but are there some with west coast companies? Alot of my friends have gone to Texas and east coast
