High winds expected to move through the Louisville area today are increasing concerns that more branches and trees will bring down power lines.

Thunderstorms are expected to roll through the area today, dropping plenty of rain, but also bringing winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts of as high as 60 mph, said Mark Jarvis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

While the winds won't be as high as the 75-mph ones that passed through in September, the blustery conditions could pose problems for Louisville Gas & Electric.
