MOUNTAIN HOME - A helicopter pilot's failure to stay clear of a power line resulted in a crash near Norfork Dam a year ago that killed both men aboard, according to federal investigators.

The pilot, James Dean Evertsen, 56, of West Plains, Mo., and his passenger, Randall J. Arthur, 51, of Marshfield, Mo., died in the crash on the morning of July 15, 2008, near the federal hydropower dam on the White River.

Arthur worked for Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative in Marshfield and was conducting an aerial inspection of the cooperative's 161-kilovolt transmission line when one of the helicopter's main rotor blades clipped another high-voltage transmission line.
