Poems for and by our women

I did not write this one, It was sent to me and I want to share it with all my cool friends here.

Dragonfly

A Keeper
I grew up in the fifties with a practical parent --
a mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil
after she cooked in it, then reused it.
She was the original recycle queen, before they had
a name for it...
A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed
than buying new ones.
Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their
best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now,
Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress,
lawn mower in one hand, dishtowel in the other.
It was the time for fixing things -- a curtain rod,
the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a
dress. Things we keep.
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me
crazy.
All that re-fixing, reheating, renewing, I wanted
just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence.
Throwing things away meant
you knew there'd always be more.
But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's
night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck
with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any 'more.'
Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up
and goes away...never to return.
So...while we have it...it's best we love it.....and care for
it....and fix it when it's broken.....and heal it when it's sick.
This is true.....for marriage.....and old cars.....and children
with
bad report cards.....and dogs with bad hips.....and aging
parents.....and grandparents. We keep them because they are
worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep.
Like a best friend that moved away -- or -- a
classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important,
like people we know who are special.....and so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thinks I am a
'keeper' so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way.
Now it's your turn to send this to those people that are "keepers"
in your life.
Good friends are like stars....You don't always see them, but you
know
they are always there.

For My Husband

When you left this earth
my heart split right in two.
One half filled with memories,
the other half left with you.
I lay awake at night,
while the world is fast asleep.
I take a walk down memory lane,
as tears fall down my cheeks.
Another tears stained pillow,
another lonley night.
Wishing you were here with me,
longing to hold you tight.
Even dreams are no escape,
from the pain of losing you.
I close my eyes and there you are,
and there is nothig I can do.
By the time the morning sun comes up,
I get up and dry my cheeks.
I've become so good at crying,
I can do it in my sleep.

Cool poem Lineman's Lady 222

We know he really loves you if you can get away with calling a man beautiful

His pet name is GORGEOUS, and believe you me. He's one of the FINEST LINEMAN, I've ever seen! He's a 'COSMO' lineman!

No, he hasn't read the site yet. I just found it and he's down south. All I could say when I met him was nothing other than "What's my name? and DAMN!" He's not only GORGEOUS but he has a HEART to follow. Good looks and a heart isn't easy to come by these days, it's one or the other. Mental picture...curly brown hair, dreamy almond-big brown eyes, baby dimples, gorgeous smile, perfect eyebrows. Face perfectly symmetrical with a mustache and goatee. He kind of looks like the picture below. The picture below is country singer, Josh Gracin.

I'm glad you found both in your man.

After a twelve pack of Corona and quite a few shots of Tequila.
